Historical Info
Rural Homoeopathic Hospital, Palghar
Established on 16th January 2000, the hospital has become the biggest 50 bed multi-specialty hospital in the Palghar-Boisar belt catering to the health needs of the under-privileged sections of society.
Mumbai and Palghar – Manor – two faces of humanity separated by a mere 100 Kms. Plentiful wealth and unimaginable poverty. Backwardness in all aspects of life. Electricity, drinkable water, roads, educational facilities, health-care facilities –scarcity is seen everywhere! The homeland of mal-nutrition, anemia, scabies, and alcohol. Even now deliveries are conducted mostly at home. Extreme negligence towards maternal health. Ranks second in Maharashtra in child mortality.
Most of the residents are extremely poor. The farming tribals, the salt pan workers, the brick-layers, the laborers who have migrated from other states – all, all are 'unskilled workers', working on very low wages, and spending even those wages partly on alcohol!
1989 we had inaugurated the first Trust clinic in the Palghar region – the Dr. M. L. Dhawale Memorial Clinic at Khanpada, Palghar. Since then for the last 20 years we have been striving to reach through our health-care services more & more of the poor & needy population staying in backward regions, even in inaccessible pada-s, in the Palghar & Vikramgarh regions.
In year 2000 students of Dr. Dhawale, people from community, all political parties and industrialist of Palghar- Biosar area came forward to establish a multispecialty homeopathic hospital. MLD Trust, following the vision of their Guru, Dr. M. L. Dhawale, has established a network of health-care services in the region. It is providing a variety of health-care services to the residents of the Palghar & Vikramgad region, through Homoeopathy, a most economic and effective treatment modality assisted ably by a team of allopathic specialists and surgeons. Charitable services does not mean 'anything goes'. Our motto is to provide quality service to each patient, whatever his / her ability to pay.
This hospital was established as need of an hour for tribal population whom there was need of such hospital which works on the concept of service, love and care. This is the unique hospital with homoeopathy as a first line of treatment integrated with modern medicine to serve poor and tribal population. This hospital is by the people, for the people and of the people.

It has been observed since last 4 to 5 years that the higher middle class and the middle class people in Palghar taluka has been facing difficulties in managing medical emergency situations, availability of Doctors especially during weekends and holidays etc. This is a public perception that because of non availability of medical services on time a lot of people have lost their lives many of them from the elite class. This need has been expressed through the higher and middle class population of the society. The tribal class is far away from expressing this need. We as a health care providing organization have to introduce to the lower class population to this care irrespective to the quality of care they need.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES:
Formation of community volunteers group:
At Palghar we have experienced massive flow of patient , many patient are dependent on attendants like family or relatives like alcoholics & infants for their visit to hospitals, our involvement & investment in to them is huge their follow up is crucial for homeopathic treatment, education & research, but many of us experience sudden drop out with no clear reason available to us. This has impact on our quality patient care through homeopathy, students & research workers. It was felt need to establish our net work in to surrounding villages & create carders of health volunteers absolutely on honorary basis to create link of communication between RHH & community. These volunteers will brief us about health status of patient & take our massages to the needy. This will be largely done with help of mobile tel. & by our social work department & they will pay periodic visit to needy villages. All these volunteers will be invited quarterly to hospital will sensitize them about our programs, new development & camps with intention to create good will messengers around & support to our social work department.
This is intended to start with very minimum expectation Hence selection criterion were
- Person preferably from non political back ground (holding any post or position in)
- He or she should not join with any monitory expectation (purely on volunteer basis)
- Person should be resident of that village.
- Willing volunteer in our endeavors.
It is a small contribution of Community department rural homeopathic hospital Palghar in memory of 25th. Death Anniversary of
Dr. M. L. Dhawale sir
